My #1 Commitment Hack For Staying Committed To Big Goals

by Mandy Green, Busy Coach

We all want to accomplish BIG goals and take the consistent actions necessary to achieve them.

But even the most disciplined coaches will agree, this is one of the hardest things to actually do.

So how do you REALLY commit to something… without giving up, getting distracted, or falling off track?

A new habit… a specific routine… or kicking an old bad habit to the curb.

The answer is found in my #1 Commitment Hack:

Create a visible reminder of your commitment that you see constantly.

The daily demands of coaching can pull your focus in a hundred different directions. That’s why visual reminders are so important—they help you stay locked in on what matters most.

Here are some simple ways to make this work:

  • Sticky Notes in Key Locations – Put a note on your desk, in the locker room, or inside your playbook with a phrase that keeps you focused.
  • Phone Lock Screen – Change your phone’s home screen to a word or phrase that reminds you of your mission.
  • Password Reminders – Use a phrase as your password that reinforces your focus (e.g., “Win2025!” or “LeadWithTrust!”).
  • Your email signature – Add a motivational quote, your coaching philosophy, or a key phrase in your email signature. Every time you send a message, you’ll reinforce what’s most important to you and hold yourself accountable to act accordingly.
  • A battle board – Keep a visible calendar of key team and recruiting mile markers, KPI’s, and other action steps to accomplish month my month.
  • Game Day Focus – Write a single word or phrase on your clipboard to reinforce what matters most (e.g., “Discipline,” “Energy,” or “Composure”). Making it a great way to really push yourself on something

When you see your goal every day, you’re more likely to stay committed. Coaching is about consistency, and these reminders keep you on track.

Whatever it is you’re trying to commit to or achieve…

Constant reminders pay off!
