I’ve been really loving my high intensity kickboxing/lifting gym workouts lately…
And the consistency, even on days when I don’t hit a personal best…
Has really been giving me a lot of momentum.
Which brings me to WHY I’m telling you about my workout obsession…
Because I believe the same momentum I have created with workouts applies to your recruiting. Success in recruiting today requires three things:
- Continuous improvement
- Moments of high intensity
Here’s what I mean:
Consistency means showing up every day in your recruiting, “getting to the gym” even when you don’t really feel like it. Some days you won’t feel inspired or motivated, but if you show up anyway, over time it leads to…
Continuous improvement. You don’t have to get it perfect, you just have to get it going. And then keep it going by striving to continually do and be better.
Consistency + continuous improvement are like running the marathon of your recruiting.
But sometimes, to get ahead, you need to do a sprint.
And that’s where the moments of high intensity come in. A quick, focused period where you are making a BIG leap and just getting stuff done.
Segmenting your top recruits in your database and doing a massive focused effort to communicate with them, a big on-campus visit weekend, or in our new reality, or a series of zoom calls with your top prospects to get them to the next step in the recruiting process are all examples of high-intensity sprints that will really move the needle for you.
The COMBINATION of all three of these makes you unstoppable.
So, my question for you is…are you focused on continuous improvement in your recruiting?
