As a coach, you tell your athletes to prioritize rest, right?
But are you doing the same?
Taking a break every hour isn’t just something that would be “nice” to do. It’s essential for your energy, focus, and performance throughout the day.
You might think that working non-stop is how you’ll stay ahead, but science says otherwise. Research on high performers shows that short, regular breaks actually boost your energy levels and make you more productive.
Just like your athletes need recovery to perform at their best, so do you.
Here’s a simple tip: Every hour, get up and move around.
Stretch, grab some water, go to the bathroom, or even jump around for a bit.
It doesn’t need to be a long break—just a few minutes can make a huge difference.
Why does this work? Studies show that taking short breaks reduces mental fatigue and improves focus. High performers, from athletes to CEOs, use this trick to keep their energy levels up all day long.
Think of it like charging your phone. You wouldn’t let your phone die in the middle of an important task. So, why let your energy drain without recharging yourself?
Your body and mind need these mini-recharges to stay sharp.
Taking a break every hour may sound simple, but the impact is huge.
You’ll feel more refreshed and stay more engaged with your work.
And guess what? You’ll also sleep better at night because your stress levels will be lower.
So, coaches, it’s time to practice what you preach.
Prioritize your rest, just like your athletes.
You’ll be more energized, more focused, and better equipped to lead your team.
Take a break. Every hour. Your body—and your athletes—will thank you.
