Alright, Coach, let’s chat.
You know how fast these next two months are going to fly by. One minute it’s early November, and then—bam—it’s New Year’s.
So, let’s set you up to finish the year strong without feeling like it just “happened” to you.
Here’s a quick plan you can tackle in 10 minutes to make the most out of the next few months for both you and your staff.
🌟 Clarify What Really Matters
What’s most important to you over these next two months? Think it through. Maybe it’s tying up loose ends for the season, setting a foundation for next year, or simply getting some much-needed time with family. Whatever it is, write it down.
Ask yourself:
- Do I have everything I need to tackle this?
- Do these tasks actually align with my end-of-year goals?
Getting your thoughts out of your head and into a list frees up mental space, so you can focus on actually what you need to do to build your program—not just keeping track of loose ends.
Then, adjust your calendar to match those priorities. Give yourself permission to focus on what truly matters, and don’t be afraid to let some of the “extras” wait.
💪 Work Your “No” Muscle
This might be the hardest part. But let’s be real—there will be a lot of invites, extra projects you want to tackle, and end-of-year requests. Consider the demands on your time, how much downtime you’ll need, and any family or social events coming up.
For now, let “no” be your default response unless there’s a really good reason to say “yes.”
If something doesn’t align with the priorities you just set, it’s okay to pass. Saying “no” is a way to protect your time, so you’re not overwhelmed by things that don’t matter as much.
⏳ Get Ahead Where You Can
Think about anything you can knock out now to make life easier later—whether it’s the recruiting emails you want to send over the next 2 months, or even holiday prep. Get those little things out of the way before the holiday season is in full swing. That way, when everyone else is in a last-minute frenzy, you can actually enjoy the holidays with less stress.
Hopefully, you work off of a master to-do list so all of these operational and recruiting tasks are out of your head, and organized in a way so you know who is doing the task, how it needs to be done (SOP), when it needs to get done by, and the outcome that needs to be achieved.
🏆 Finish Strong
Remember, Coach, this season doesn’t have to speed past you. By getting clear on your priorities, using your “no” muscle, and getting ahead where possible, you’re setting yourself up for a year-end that feels intentional, not accidental.
Here’s to ending this year with purpose—and savoring every moment!
